Hamlet Archer

Hamlet Archer has a disease ridden childhood. The vet diagnosed him with canine distemper contracted from the pet shop merely a week from the time I brought him home. SPCA told me that it was a mistake to buy a puppy from a pet shop in the first place, not to mention from Odie Pet House in MK. The knowledge that pet shops would skip the vaccination shots to save the minuscule cost of the medicine and half of their animals carry serious illnesses underneath their stimulant enhanced presentation was outrageous. Had I not taken the innocent puppy home, however, Hamlet would likely have died of either canine distemper or "pain management" by now.

Hamlet has received the best medical care that cost me an arm and a leg. He continued to gain weight and gradually overcame his respiratory infection. Then a little over a week ago the distemper virus attacked his nervous system and he developed myoclonus - involuntary muscle seizure. A renowned veterinary neurologist advised us that there was no effective treatment. If the condition worsened, Hamlet might eventually lose his mobility and might live an unhappy dog's life.

Each day I wake up to find Hamlet ever more lovable despite a slightly worsened twitch in his muscles. He certainly deserves to live a happy life, and I will do anything to ease his suffering. Yet there might come a time when euthanasia becomes the best way to ease his pain. How does one decide when a living, loving creature is beyond all hope of leading a meaningful life and should be put to sleep? This is the most stressful, depressing, and arbitrary question I have ever had to ponder in my life.  Sad

Badminton

Badminton was not my choice as much as it was the choice of Hong Kong's general population; and considering that it was one of the few sports at which chinese people excel, it made good logical sense. I played against Peter and got my behind whooped. At that point my pointless competitiveness kicked in. For the past month my life revolved around that fluffy shuttlecock (funny word). There be only one goal - destroy Peter 21-0.

Cassia

It has been a year since I shared my vision with Mary. A seemingly endless line of innovations and disagreements, of anticipations and surprises, of defects and solutions ensued. Not unlike the pursuit of any other dream, the dream of a home does not realize without sacrifice. Now that the Wii remote swings and Toro chases the laser pointer into the glass door at the Cassia pad, my home is at long last complete, and the saga of dinner party again lives.

IPO

International Elite Ltd is a CRM outsourcing service specialist and the smallest IPO around. It nevertheless took our team countless nights to take this baby public. 8313's performance so far has made us proud, and we do look forward to a bright future. It is often said that an IPO is not the end but the beginning of a journey, which is particularly true in our case as we stare at not one but two additional IPO plans with a mix of emotions. One down two to go. Sarcastic
